Everything that happens at my Kitchen Sink

Dishwashing:

  • Food-safe detergent: https://s.shopee.sg/W4E9egdBp

    • Can be used as a veggie/fruit wash, surface cleaner for microwave, oven & fridge, or as regular dish soap

    • Great if you have little ones or pets at home

    • Downside is it doesn’t lather very well so you might feel like you need to use more

    • But upside is it rinses out really easily

  • Dishwashing liquid: https://s.shopee.sg/30lZ8EbEJx

    • Because I need a detergent to wash my kitchen sink, I use a regular dish soap that lathers well for doing that

  • Dishwashing mesh (replaces sponge!): https://s.shopee.sg/4qDDJfdMKt / https://s.shopee.sg/W4E9m3aD5

    • I do not use regular sponges at all as they do not dry completely between every use and breed more bacteria

    • Regular sponges also leak plastics while this mesh is very thin and made of 0 plastics. It will dry well and there won’t be any odours!

    • Despite it looking like a cloth, it helps your dish soap lather well and is easy to wash all types of dishes. It folds more easily than sponges

  • Dishwashing stainless steel scrubber: https://s.shopee.sg/AUra4Avyc5

    • If you have stainless steel cookware, this scrubber is extremely good! It is said to last forever and I’ve had it for 3-4 years. It looks as good as new!

  • Non-toxic stain remover/cleaning paste: https://s.shopee.sg/4AxWWJvMiV

    • If any of your utensils, oven or cookware has stains and need that extra bit of strength to look clean & new again!

    • Can be used on other surfaces around your home too, not just the kitchen

  • Ultra-long rubber gloves: https://s.shopee.sg/3VhpjRjrPy

    • I’ve tried so many cleaning gloves but the ones that are so short are practically useless

    • Everyone needs these ultra-long ones that will never tear:) Also comes with a hook so you can hang them up to dry them well

  • Sink side compact dish rack: https://s.shopee.sg/gNeLzgUkD

    • Was worried about the small size initially, but it has been serving me well! I’m glad I didn’t go for the larger size. If you only cook simple meals and belong to a small pax household, this is perfect!

    • Bigger dish racks will require more effortful upkeep, so something compact is easy to keep clean as well

    • It’s very well made and will definitely last you for a long time

    • It also has a spout to drip water directly into the sink

  • Dish cloth i’ve been using for 6 years: https://s.shopee.sg/3VhpjLsTHk

    • This is my clean hands & dish cloth

    • I change 1 out everyday so I have a good collection of it

    • It’s dryer-safe and very good to have in the kitchen. Love that they are neutral and don’t come in bright colours or patterns. It’ll go with any kitchen:)

Sink maintenance & area cleaning:

  • Drain hole unblocker & deodoriser: https://s.shopee.sg/3g1FvQidvv

    • This absolutely works if you have blockage in your kitchen and bathrooms, but I personally use it for regular upkeep

    • Use the whole bottle to unblock, or 1/3 to deodorise & maintain your sink holes! This is something I don’t skip out on because I cook and wash a lot.

  • Surface cleaner: https://s.shopee.sg/7fXOglYDe3

    • My go-to for 6 years, it’s a really really good degreaser and doesn’t smell fake/too strong such that it hurts your nose

    • Every scent is great, but I tend to go for sea salt & lime

  • Sponge cloth that dries ultra quick:

  • Diatomite sink side mats: https://s.shopee.sg/1BJtSy4uuw / https://s.shopee.sg/2g8hFk7juu / https://s.shopee.sg/LkmTQW0Kn

  • Silicone sink side mats: https://s.shopee.sg/4ftldGI7XN / https://s.shopee.sg/1gGA3oVQp1 /

    • I've used both options in my previous home when I did not have an integrated sink! The thing about these mats is they require DAILY maintenance.

I commonly receive DMs to share that they don't work/turn moudly or grimey after awhile. But all 5 years, I haven't experienced them because I was my silicone mats with detergent and dry them completely on my dish rack overnight. I rinse my diatomite mats thoroughly, and then also dry it on the rack overnight. They need proper air flow or they will turn mouldy in our climate for sure.

My kitchen tap that I love so much, I repurchased for my 2nd home: https://s.shopee.sg/5fmKJXVlAg

  • The one I have is actually stainless steel, it’s matte and not shiny. It is slightly pricier but it’s just an aesthetic difference

How to change your kitchen tap into 2 water modes:

Do check with the seller and with your kitchen tap if they are appropriate👍🏼
