Walking, Running, Workout Shoes

I don’t have a lot of shoes to recommend, but that’s a good thing because I’ve clocked >700km in quite a few of these:

  • New balance – For walking! It might need some breaking in before it gets super comfy. I repurchased this twice because I love it a lot. It looks great when worn casually

  • Asics gel nimbus – Such a great beginner’s running shoe, it was recommended to me by almost everyone who had more running experience than me! I wouldn’t repurchase again though, because it’s not really a fast shoe. It’s very cushiony, supportive & steady.

  • New balance rebel – Bought this after the Asics and immediately realised I prefer “lower” shoes. The kind that feel supportive but I can still feel the ground because I feel it makes me feel more energetic and can go faster when I want to go fast. I’ve retired them after >700km and they were excellent!

  • Adidas – My current favourite pair and might be hard to top. Aesthetically, this shoe looks really good as well. It’s cushiony, very light and has a rocking design that propels you forward for a very very smooth run. I want another pair from a different model based on how much I love this.

  • PUMA – A very bouncy shoe at faster paces. This shoe is best at 6min/km and under. Whenever I’m warming up in this pair, my legs feel extra heavy for some reason. It’s not my go-to shoe, but I love this for hybrid workouts and something I’m still happy to have in my rotation.

  • HOKA Clifton – The only pair I didn’t manage to clock more than 100km. This was a horrendous shoe for me unfortunately, because the colour way is cute and it has raving reviews online. But my legs needed days to recover after using them and I never felt any energy return or support in these shoes. I tried just using them for walking and it was just very lackluster.
